As stated in our Core Values, we believe that prayer is the ministry of the church. God desires us to communicate with Him and one of the primary means of doing so is prayer. Our model for such communication is Jesus Christ, who prayed diligently, fervently and often. As followers of Jesus Christ the priority of prayer should be a regular and normal part of our daily lives.
Pastor Gary Johnson taught a sermon series on prayer in the summer of 2005, which is available online though the Common Ground Podcast (iTunes).
Kingdom Prayer is the monthly church service devoted wholly to prayer. Usually held on the first Wednesday of each month and open to all, it is a time of corporate prayer for the glory of God and the advancement of His Kingdom. We pray for the universal church from local to global and its mission in spreading the gospel; for specific needs that are brought to the attention of the congregation; and for our government and its leaders.
All those who attend Common Ground Church are invited to participate in Kingdom Prayer services.
Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians - 5.16-18
At Common Ground, we believe that every ministry we desire to do for the sake of Christ's kingdom must, first, foremost and always, be bathed in prayer. The Prayer team are members whose specific ministry is praying for our community.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. - Philippians 4.6
