Greetings beloved family of Common Ground,
We are doing our very best to stay connected with each one of you. I know this isn’t the norm, but it is temporarily the new normal. And our great and glorious God is still working all things out for the good to those who love God and are called according to His perfect purpose (Romans 8:28). Beloved, stay the course all for the glory of God!
Our Elders will continually be calling you on a regular basis to check in and ask for any prayer requests and keeping you informed as best as possible in these strange times. I want to encourage all of you to stay connected via your email, phone and on our Common Ground website, which is www.commongroundchurch.org. I hope all of you had the opportunity to tune into our “first ever-best ever” live stream last Sunday at 10:00 AM Central Standard Time. I would like to take this time to personally thank Chris K. and Alfie K. for all their techno wizardry in allowing us to come into your homes. We will continue to use the live-stream media venue on Sunday morns until we are allowed to open our church building doors to the public.
The first Wednesday of the month is usually our time for gathering together for pizza and prayer. Therefore, I want to urge all of you to pray together in your homes on a regular basis. Try praying for at least 15 minutes every day! This would also be a great time to start if you have never done it, a family worship time around your supper table. I can’t encourage this enough. I have personally witnessed the greatest spiritual growth and depth in families that take serious family worship. I am asking the One True God to use this season to bring us deeper, closer and more in love with Jesus Christ as we saturate our lives in Word and Prayer.
What if our God is more than able to start a “Pandemic of Prayer” that was extremely contagious, and it spread rapidly and what if He started this pandemic of prayer with our church of Common Ground? Would you please take time IMMEDIATELY after reading this and start praying for two things: 1. The start of a Prayer Pandemic. 2. The end of the virus pandemic.
Lastly continue to consider your love and obedience to Christ in the faithful giving of your tithes and offerings. I know for many the old saying “Out of sight, out of mind” comes into play when we are presently not gathering publicly together as a people of God, for the gospel must still go forth and our bills must still be paid.
Please contact me, or any of the elders for prayer requests regardless of how big or little you think your prayer requests are. I also encourage you to look for creative ways in which we can serve our neighbors and one another during these crazy virus-ridden days. Stay safe, six ft. social distancing, wash frequently, sneeze or cough into your elbow, God has got this!!
Making Much of Jesus!!! Pastor Gary
